*Be careful with the rig above the 20 knot settings, make sure to ease vang & backstay before going downwind.

*All turns are from BASE.

*The Base Setting is 36'6 .75" for rake and 16 on LOOS B Tension Gauge for the uppers.

Light Air Set Up Guide (0-6):  Your traveler is 12”-18” above centerline. The mainsail leech is open and loose. The backstay is all the way off. Your vang is slack. There are wrinkles in the luff of your jib. The jib leech is 2” outside the tape mark.
Light-Medium Set Up Guide (6-10):  Your traveler is 6”-10” above centerline. The mainsail leech has the top telltale stalled 50% of the time. The backstay just starts to come on, slack is removed. Your vang is slack. There are less wrinkles in the luff of your jib, almost none. The jib leech is at the tape mark.
Medium-Heavy Air Set Up Guide (10-20 True):  Your traveler is centerline. The mainsail leech has the top telltale stalled 75% of the time. The backstay is on 25%-75%. Your vang is firm in the puffs. There are no wrinkles in the luff of the jib. The jib leech is at or 1” outside the tape mark.
Heavy Air Set Up Guide (20-28 True):  Your traveler is 2” below centerline. The mainsail leech is open, all the leech telltales are flying. The backstay is 100%.  Your vang is on firm to hard. The luff of the jib is firm to taught. The jib leech is 2”-4” outside the tape mark.

0-4  knots R1 Reacher Tackline all the way down.
5-22 knots R2 Runner Tackline off 4" to 12" when in the bow
down/soak mode*
22+  knots R1 Reacher Tackline all the way down.

Misc. Notes:
-The Rake is always 36’ 7 3/4”, measured from the top of the mast to the bottom of the transom. The Loos gauge number at Base is 16 on the cap shroud and 3 fingers off on the lower shroud. Put a black tape mark on each spreader 19” out from the edge of the mast.

-In light air the leeward lower should just be starting to sag

-As the wind increases the leeward lower will have a touch of sag and then straight when powered up

-Around 15 knots we make a big jump on the lower shrouds so that the leeward lower is tight, supporting the mast fore and aft

-The upper goes as tight as possible to keep the mast somewhat straight sideways. * Remember with the tight lowers you have to be careful when running. Keep some backstay tension so the mast stays in column

-21+ Mast will be slightly poked to weather; leeward shroud tight while going to windward.
