Etchells Canadians, Royal Canadian Yacht Club. June 30, July 1st.

Twenty one boats from the US and Canada competed this past weekend in
Toronto. Friday was reserved for registration and inspection with racing
both Saturday and Sunday. We only got in two of the three races
scheduled on Saturday with winds battling from both the North and South
over the north shore of lake Ontario. Previous World Champions Bruce and
Glenn Burton from Bayview Yacht Club in Detroit won the first race with
very shifty wind conditions. Hans Fogh from the RCYC took first in the
second race. A dying breeze after the first beat only allowed the boats
to sail one downwind leg to finish. We never got off a third race so all
the boats headed back to RCYC for a keg party sponsored by Steam Whistle
Brewing Company.

On Sunday the race committee was again challenged by breeze fighting
from the North and South. A light sea breeze filled in and allowed us to
sail only one race. Again, the Burton brothers were victorious winning
race number three. The Canadian Championships went to Bruce and Glenn
Burton. Thanks again to the RCYC and race committee who did a great job
during difficult conditions. Special thanks goes to Quantum Sailmakers
for supplying all the regatta hats and skipper kits and to Steam Whistle
Brewing company for supplying keeper trophies and of coarse the beer for
the event.

4) CAN-1246 Robert Kidd RCYC
5) USA-1076 Ray Harrington Fleet 25
